A minute after I took this picture, the owner of the store on the left came running down the street after me, wanting to know why I was taking a picture of his store. I was afraid something like this might happen today, since this is National "Suspect Every Stranger of Being a Terrorist" Week. The government's campaign to instill fear in all its citizens appears to be taking hold. The next step is to use that fear to get the people to agree to anything the power-hungry "public servants" want. "Yes, Mr. President, do whatever you feel is necessary to protect us from those evil people halfway around the world." I think as individuals in this country, in the long term we have a lot more to fear from our own government than we do from Saddam Hussein or al-Qaeda. The quote of the week, usually attributed to Benjamin Franklin:

"Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve and will have neither."

All I want is to be ignored, is that too much to ask?

I didn't enjoy the rest of my walk or take any more pictures until I got to Elyria Canyon Park

One last picture, a nice stain on the concrete wall at the Civic Center Red Line station. Mold, mildew, minerals from the seeping water? I made sure nobody was watching when I took this picture. Stain
